In today’s job market, candidates have to really shine. They need to shine before, during and after the interview. They need to look good and talk better. Only then will they have a hope in hell of getting employed in this recession.

Add to that the prevalence of the internet. I have a Facebook and Twitter which are always open when I’m at my PC. I have a smartphone I can use to access the internet anywhere. If someone asks me a question I don’t know the answer to, or I need to find a service, or even just for a fun activity, my immediate thought is Google.

So the higher the internet presence I have, as a budding event planner, the more likely I am to be employed or booked. And that, in a nutshell, is why I’ve started this blog, and my website.

Generally, the blog will be filled with my experiences in the event planning community. I am starting an internship at the end of the month, which I’m sure I’ll talk about no end. I’ll also blog about any notable events I attend.
