I blogged recently about my New Year’s Resolutions, but today I came across Chris Brogan’s My Three Words. And it got me thinking, so I’ve decided to take part. I scrolled through my new year’s resolutions, and came up with the following:
You know that feeling you get when you’re teetering over making a decision? I intend to plow straight into it. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
A few of my NYRs involve taking some sort of plunge. I’m sick of holding back because I’m scared of the consequences. I need to dare more.
One problem I have a lot of the time is failing to follow through. I have a zillion great ideas a day and they’ve drifted out of my head by teatime. Or I’ll start something then let it drift away.
So this year I’m going to fully commit to doing things. I’ll follow through on every venture I undertake.
Of course, I can’t follow through on everything I undertake if I carry on doing everything I’m currently doing. So I need to shed some of the dead weight I’m carrying.
I need to evaluate everything I currently stuff into my 168 hours a week and determine what I want to get rid of to fit something more awesome in instead.
There we go: dare, commit, shed. Let’s see how 2015 pans out with those in mind.
